Interchanges (Crossover Subs)
The Matrix RC Interchange is a three-piece assembly made up of an interchange body, inner tube, and top sub. It is designed for use with an RC DTH hammer or tricone rock bit in reverse circulation drilling.
The interchange directs drill cuttings from the bit into the inner tube of the RC drill rod. From there, samples travel up the drill string and discharge at the surface for collection.
Jetted-style RC interchanges introduce a controlled amount of compressed air into the return sample stream. This added airflow helps move cuttings up the inner tube and improves sample recovery.
The interchange is installed directly above the DTH hammer in the RC drill string. Matrix RC interchanges are built for strength and durability in demanding drilling conditions. They are available in 1-, 2-, or 3-slot designs, with or without jetting, and are manufactured to match each Matrix RC tooling size.
